National Treasure · Unified Silla period · Uiseong-gun, Gyeongsangbuk-do
This 9.6m-tall five-storied pagoda dates from the Unified Silla period. Every part of the stone pagoda has almost perfectly preserved. Partially, the pagoda reflects a mode of the wooden and brick structure, and is a good example for examining the development of Korean pagodas. The foundation has a ground stone consisting of 14 stones and 24 panel stones on it. At each corner of the panel stands two corner pillars and a pillar in its middle as separate stones. The roof consists of eight stones and on the upper most stone of the roof is a supporting stone on which the stone sits. This is the oldest stone pagoda next to the pagoda at Bunhwangsa.
