Treasure · Goryeo period · Buyeo-gun, Chungcheongnam-do
This stone Buddha statue located on the slope of Seongheungsan Mountain is presumed to have been made during the early period of the Goryeo dynasty (918-1392).
The statue was carved from a single piece of stone. Its body roughly expresses the robes. The flat, square face, the cylindrical body of the jewelled crown, and the square canopy-like decoration of the crown are typical characteristics of stone bodhisattva statues made in the Chungcheong-do area during the early Goryeo period.
Its height is about 10 m.
