This Buddha statue is enshrined in Sinamsa, a Buddhist temple established by Gu Ye (the fourth descendant of Neungseong Gu Clan) to pray for his family during the reign of King Chungsuk of the Goryeo Dynasty. It has a square face and long ears on a big and strong frame, and its lower half of the body displays wide and strong appearance which is in balance with the upper part. Robe dripping down from shoulders covers its right hand and stomach, and the clothes with ornaments behind the robe on its left side has a butterfly-shaped knot. This Buddhist statue is similar to other statues in Munsusa Temple of Seosan and Janggoksa Temple of Cheongyang, which are made in the early 14th century.
