Treasure · Unified Silla period · Haenam-gun, Jeollanam-do
The pagoda is thought to have been built in the unified Silla era and is also said that the Dharma Master Jajang enshrined here some of sarira of the Tathagata Sakyamuni that he had brought along from China. When the pagoda was dismantled and reassembled for conservational purpose in January 1967, a 12cm-high seated copper statue of Buddha, was found inside. The pagoda, together with the 3-story Stone Pagoda in Bukmireuk-am hermitage(Treasure), attests to the spread of unified Silla-style stone pagodas in this region.
