This stone lantern has an octagonal shape; that is representative of Korean stone lanterns. Its ground stone is rectangular, but the body above it is octagonal. Its base and the lotus pattern above it are made of one stone. This well-balanced and elegant stone lantern is presumed to have been erected around the 8th century during the Unified Silla period.
