Treasure · Unified Silla period · Gyeongju-si, Gyeongsangbuk-do
This Buddhist image is carved on the upper part of the cliff just above Chilbulam hermitage. It looks as if the image were seating on the clouds. The image with three jewelled-crowns proves a Bodhissttva. The Bodhisattva has a flower in the right hand, and the left hand is raised up. The robe is streaming down the octagonal pedestal, and the right foot steps on the lotus petal. The left foot has a leisure posture above clouds. This 1.4m-tall image is supposed to have been sculptured during the late part of the 8th century.
