Treasure · Joseon period · Cheongdo-gun, Gyeongsangbuk-do
This is a temple site on which a large temple stood in the Silla period. This site had remained deserted until three thatched hermitages were built here in the Joseon period. Daejeoksa became a temple when Priest Seonghaedaesa enshrined the Buddhist triad here in 1689, the 15th year of King Sukjong.
Geungnakjeon, or the Hall of the Paradise, was built around the 18th century. It measures 4kan by 2kan (a kan is the traditional unit of measure referring the space between two columns). The roof is gabled and multi-bracketed.
