Treasure · 1703년 · Mungyeong-si, Gyeongsangbuk-do
It is a Buddhist picture drawn by 6 painters including Suwon in the 29th year of King Sukjong. The layout of the picture where Sakyamuni Buddha stands with his right arm lowered and his followers surrounding him in an orderly manner demonstrates the popular type of a hanging Buddhist picture of the time in the regions of Gyeongsangbukdo such as Mungyeong, Sangju, etc.
The painting shows a transitional trend in the Buddha pictures, succeeding to the style of the hanging Buddha picture in Gyeongsangbukdo in the 17th century which was later passed onto those in Bongjeongsa Temple in Andong(1710) and Namjangsa Temple in Sangju(1788). It is evaluated as one of the most distinguished piece of Buddha's picture in and around Gyeongsangbuk-do.
