Treasure · 1767년(영조 43) · Yecheon-gun, Gyeongsangbuk-do
This is a Buddhist picture painted in 1767, the 43rd year of King Yeongjo. This painting is uniquely composed of three Bodhisattvas ruling the heaven, the earth, and the underworld of the dead, and ten kings who judge the dead. This picture composed of these figures is the only case among such Buddhist paintings and it also reflects the 18th century Buddhist consciousness in which the three Bodhisattvas counted for much. Because of its outstanding description, this Buddhist painting is valued as an important work for studying Buddhist pictures of the late Joseon Dynasty.
