Treasure · Unified Silla period · Changnyeong-gun, Gyeongsangnam-do
This monument is presumed to have been erected in 810 in the premises of a Buddhist temple named Inyangsa. The inscriptions on the monument record the 40-year history of the temple, from its foundation in 771 until 810.
The contents of the inscriptions cover various events such as the construction of the worship halls, the creation of various items of worship such as a pagoda, bell, and buddhist statues, and even the cost of food offerings to other temples. In particular, the constructions and their expenses are recorded in detail, suggesting that this stele was erected to honor those who provided financial support.
One side of the monument is carved in relief with a statue of a monk, and on the other side is an inscription praising eminent monks of Chinese Buddhism.
