Treasure · Unified Silla period · Hapcheon-gun, Gyeongsangnam-do
It is sitting cross-legged with Hangma-chokjiin on a three-layered quadrangle pedestal and its dress is Wugyeonpeondan. The Yukgye (smaller hump) on the Nabal' s (curly hair) head is clear and it has elegant facial expression. In addition, its realism style body shape that looks stable and quiet occupies an important position in the history of Buddhist statue together with the Buddhist statue of Seokguram(Grotto). The height of the statue is 2. 1m and the height of the pedestal is 75cm. In particular, there was Hwabul enshrined at the top of a flame-pattern halo and two Bicheonsangs in shapes of flying on clouds are described dynamically on both sides. On the podium of the stone statue, a Bodhisattva statue was carved for offering tea to a Budda, which is a good material to presume the fact that tea-culture was prosperous during the Silla Dynasty.
