Treasure · 통일신라 후기 · Hapcheon-gun, Gyeongsangnam-do
This ten-storied stone tower is made of granite, except for the ‘hadaeseok’, the lower part, for which slate is used. The ‘oksinbu’ part has almost disappeared and all of the ten ‘okgaeseok’, a roof stone, are relatively gently sloping. The stone tower lamp has lost the ‘hwasaseok’, the main body part. The pillar part, called ‘ganseok’, is made of granite, while the support of 'hwasaseok' and all the ‘okgaeseok’ parts are made of slate. The relatively long ‘ganseok’ has no sculpture on it, and each ‘okgaeseok’ has gentle slope. The fact that slate is used and the lamp shows exquisite craftsmanship suggests that the lamp was made in the late Unified Silla period.
