Treasure · 조선 숙종 7년(1681) · Hadong-gun, Gyeongsangnam-do
This painting depicts the scene of the Buddha’s lecture at Vulture Peak. The painting hanging in Palsangjeon Hall is a replica of the original painting which was made in 1688 and is currently kept at the temple’s museum.
Sakyamuni is portrayed in the center surrounded by the four guardian kings, four bodhisattvas, six disciples, four buddhas, and others on either side. This painting is significant because there are not many extant paintings from the 17th century. It was painted on silk, and measures 2.73m in width and 4.1m in height.
