This three-story stone pagoda exhibits the characteristic style of stone pagodas of the Unified Silla period in that it consists of a three-story body supported by a two-tier base, which is in turn placed upon a foundation stone. The pagoda was dismantled for repairs in 1987 and reassembled at a point on the central axis between Geungnakjeon and Yaksajeon Halls, just 1.5 meters northeast of its original location. The repair project resulted in the discovery of a white porcelain vessel of Joseon inside the pagoda's upper base and two miniature gilt-bronze images of Buddha and a bronze spoon in its lower base. These finds, together with the "worship stone" (baeryeseok), were moved to the Tongdosa Temple Museum when the pagoda was relocated.
