How to use

Type a heritage name or a place in the search box. Choose a category above the map to see National Treasures, Treasures, museums and more separately.

Click a region on the left to zoom the map to its main areas. Your search and chosen category stay as they are; regions do not filter the results.

Click a marker or a list item to see photos, descriptions, location and other details. Where markers are grouped, zoom in to look closer.

Data and sources

This map shows where Korea's heritage is and the stories behind it. Its content is compiled from public data such as the Korea Heritage Service, with sources.

Please check each heritage's original link and each photo's source and terms. This service's descriptions are separate from the official texts.

The map shows a main point for each heritage, which refers to the heritage itself or the institution holding it. Being held does not mean being on display. Items without a confirmed location may not appear on the map.

Photos and terms of use

Each photo follows the source, photographer and terms shown with it. Being shown on this site does not make a photo free to use.

For KOGL Type 1 photos, please follow the attribution condition. Other terms such as CC0 or CC BY are given with each photo and at its original source.

Where AI-generated images are used, they are marked apart from real photos with their source. Do not use AI images as evidence of how something actually looks.

When there is no photo or it cannot load, you may see "Photo coming soon". A photo of other heritage is never used instead.
